My Journey: From Canvas to Conscious Couture
My story
I’m Ane Howard—artist, designer, dreamer. I still remember the first time I slipped into one of my creations: at the International Art Museum of America in San Francisco, I wore my “Medusa” dress under the museum lights. In that moment, I knew I had found my calling—to weave art and fashion together into something more than garments: wearable stories.
Origins & Inspiration 🌱
I’ve always been driven by ideas and emotions that bubble up from my life and the culture around me. But it was only when I went self-taught—painting one day, designing fabrics the next—that those ideas began to truly unfold. Art became more than my canvas; it became my voice.
And then something clicked: what if my art could live in a wardrobe, not just on a wall? That’s how I found slow fashion—a movement that honored sustainability and intention, where each stitch mattered and every fiber carried thoughtfulness.
Why Slow Fashion?
Slow fashion resonated with me on a soul level. It’s about more than style—it’s about conscious choices. Each hand-stitched seam, each eco-friendly fabric, is an act of intention. When I design a piece, whether a canvas painting or a slip dress, it’s woven with meaning and mindfulness: a gentle nudge to shop less, wear art, and tread lightly on our planet.
“It is a harmonious dance between artistry and sustainability … With each piece carefully crafted, I strive to awaken a sense of conscious consumerism.”
The Art Behind the Wear
My creative language blends abstract and figurative expressionism, rooted in my lifelong journey through dance, theatre, film, and writing. In 2021, I brought this language into full bloom at a solo exhibition at the International Art Museum of America in San Francisco—my most personal and ambitious work yet.
Working intuitively, emotionally, and unfiltered, I channel everything I’ve lived and felt into the canvas—whether it’s oil painting or the textiles I drape on my muse. My work isn’t just seen; it’s felt.

The Heart of FABA Collection
In 2022, FABA Collection was born—right here in Southern California—from my simple dream: create eco-conscious, art-infused fashion that resonates deeply. Each piece is thoughtfully handcrafted, carbon-neutral, and made to move with your story.
Because in my world, fashion isn’t just worn—it’s experienced: art that lives, breathes, and reminds us to look deeper.
This Is For You
Welcome to the FABA journey. Whether you found us by chance or by curiosity, I hope my story (and my creations) spark something within you: a fresh lens toward beauty, sustainability, and self-expression. Thank you for supporting mindful art—and letting your wardrobe become a statement of soul.
With gratitude,
