'Victoire.' Stand with Ukraine. Following the invasion of Ukraine by Putin and the Russian army, I realized how this painting spoke to the Ukrainian people and all oppressed people. 

I was inspired to paint Victoire when I read about the events leading up to Svetlana Tikhanovskaya's exile out of Belrose, her husband's imprisonment.
